Pharmacy Practice
The Department of Pharmacy Practice is an integral academic and clinical department of the B.Pharmacy programme. The department focuses on the application of pharmaceutical knowledge in patient care, medication therapy management, and rational use of drugs. It bridges the gap between pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare services by preparing students to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
The department emphasizes patient-oriented pharmacy services, hospital and community pharmacy practices, pharmacovigilance, drug information services, clinical research, and healthcare counseling. Students are trained to promote safe, effective, and economical use of medicines through clinical exposure, case studies, ward rounds, prescription analysis, and community health programs.
The department also conducts patient counseling programs, health awareness camps, medication adherence education, and adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting activities to develop professional competence and social responsibility among students.
